Be the change you want to see in the world.
(Mahatma Gandhi)
Dear OSMA friends, colleagues, followers,
Spring is slowly creeping in and for the most part we are moving past the worst moments of the pandemic that has by and large dominated much of our lives in the past year and a half.
On the global level, the pandemic has unveiled many underlying issues that we’ve long known existed, such as political differences among countries, economic resilience, racial disparities and many others. It has transformed our personal lives and we have quickly adjusted to living our lives differently, at work, in our interactions with others, how we spend our time and how to value things that we didn’t before the pandemic. Leaders, both politicians and captains of industry, and leaders in civil society, have been specifically challenged in their positions. For example, what to do with technology, which has become an indispensable tool for communication and has opened up new venues, with adaptability and flexibility in working habits. Patience was suddenly required for transition from pre-pandemic high-speed activities to shut down and later the slow revival of activities. Empathy and overall resilience have become openly discussed values.
We have all personally and collectively been through various situations and now is a good time to assess the changes that have occurred and to see the challenges experienced as lessons learned that can be a valuable foundation for future creativity.
OSMA, the Leadership Academy, provides support in developing new ways of being by offering a unique experience, the capacity to create a kinder and more sustainable future for all. We need to harness the full potential of our senses, our soul and the natural world around us. It is time to re-learn to use them, to re-learn how to trigger all the potential on collective and personal levels and re-learn to embrace uncertainty and the power of the unknown – instead of living in fear of it.
